I'm down far enough on my to-do list to have hit all the stuff that I need to do for the WindyCityRWA website.

The biggest problem is that I can't do anything that I want/need to do because the site's template is such crap.  Which makes me very angry because I bought the blasted template.  Sure, it looks pretty... but behind the pretty is CRAP!! 

For instance... the person wanted to change one list stye, so instead of changing that one style, the person changed the BASIC list style to do what he/she wanted for that one specialized list, then spent the next 300 lines of code UNDOING that basic style change for all the other list styles.

So now, because the idiot that I am, I want the Basic list style to work the way it should... I have to go through and figure out everything the moron did and undo it. (Read more)

 It's that time of year again... time for judging the WindyCity-RWA Four Seasons Contest entries. I checked back in the archives because I was sure my first entry in this blog was my rant about last year's entries, but it was the second entry. (Read more)

I spent Tuesday attempting to get down on paper all the things that needed to get said in the first page and a half... the hook... of the proposal that got lost in the mail. Then I spent yesterday re-writing. Yesterday evening I took the brand new first scene and the slightly edited second scene into my RWA chapter's critique session, and got rave reviews. The two gals who had read it before said it was vastly improved, and the two gals who hadn't seen it before had only some minor wording thoughts... in other words, the first scene is now good to go. Yah!!

And... I trimmed 872 words off the first chapter... which is only a dent in the 30k+ that need to go, but it's a start.
