I'm job hunting again.
This job (with the bank), like the last one, has been wonderful and I've learned tons, but I need more hours. So, I'm on the hunt for a full-time job... which is sucking up all the energy that I'd normally spend writing.
I've updated my resume, found a couple places to apply to (one of which I'm really excited about), and today I'm writing cover letters and sending applications off.
The agent is still sitting on my manuscript. I emailed her last week to confirm she got it, and she did. So it's more waiting. Which is fine, as I don't have the brain cells to deal with it if she did get back to me.
Kids are all in school, which is nice since it means I finally have a couple hours to myself each day. It'd be nicer if #2-son was living in a dorm rather than at home, because I'd have the whole school day to myself. But... the good side of him living at home is that when I get a full-time job, he's agreed to chauffer his younger brother to/from school (for money, of course), which is a huge problem off my mind.
And I'm back to working on the Láadan stuff, because it needs to be done and it doesn't require the creative brain cells that writing does. Suzette and I decided that we needed a To-Do list, so I'm going through all the old emails (all 1700 of them) and sorting stuff into various lists. I have lists of already approved words that need to go into the dictionary, words submitted that need to be approved or pondered, and grammar/big-picture stuff that needs to be pondered. Considering that 2 hours got me through about 120 of the emails, this is going to take a while.
So, I'm not writing, but I'm doing other useful stuff.
