Its Like Xmas
I spent the afternoon opening boxes… kinda cool, but kinda not cool.
One of my monitors died yesterday, and since I use a pair of monitors, and of coures they don’t make the old model any more, I needed a new pair. Since the new monitors didn’t have speakers, I also had to get speakers. And since I was going to the computer store anyway, I got my kids the new video card they needed.
So, instead of working, my afternoon was spent putting computers back together. I put the video card into the boys’ computer and I gave them my remaining montior, then I put the monitors and speakers onto my computer.
None of it was a huge deal. The thing that took the longest was putting all the icons on my desktop back in some semblance of order after they got all scambled going from one monitor to two and back a couple times.
It was annoying that I had to do it at all, especially since the blasted monitor wasn’t quite a year old, but I must admit that installing new stuff, even when it’s basically the same as the old stuff is fun.
The kids are thrilled with the new video card and monitor. They can finally play the online game that they’ve been wanting to play forever but couldn’t. Their old monitor goes to #3-son, which means I now have two CRT monitors to get rid of.
After all that, I’m finally back to where I was yesterday morning… but I must say, my music sounds a whole lot better than it did yesterday. ![]()
Anybody know anybody who wants CRT monitors?
