Control Relinquished

For Lady Sarah Marshbrooke, a Victorian painter of erotic art, finding suitable male models was an unending chore, until she solved the problem by bringing handsome low-class men into her house, creating her own little harem. Convinced by her painful past that she's incapable of love, Sarah maintains her emotional distance. Men come, men go, and paintings are painted. Until one man's parting words "You have taught me how to love" cause her to question her life. The next morning, an inadvertent confession begins a day that shatters her illusions, challenges her trust, forces her to face the ultimate parental betrayal, and ends with Sarah realizing she loves, and is loved, more than she ever dreamt possible.

"Secrets Revealed"

Jane, Lady Rendeltoun, appears to live a life of comfort and wealth, until a blackmailer threatens to expose her many secrets. She refuses to pay, knowing it could mean not only poverty but the loss of something of far more value, for not only is she keeping secrets from the world, she's keeping one far more important secret from the men she loves, a secret that could destroy everything she holds dear.

Stuff On Back Burner

"Triad"

This is my first science fiction novel... one of my short-stories that blew itself up. <sigh> I wrote 10k words and realized I'd barely begun, so I gave it to a friend and asked her to help me weed it back down to short-story length. She read it, and said "This is wasted on a short-story, I want a novel!" So... I'm world-building.

A Happy Medium

This is my first novel, a paranormal romance. I finally figured out exactly what my problems are, and how to fix them, which means rewriting almost every page of the manuscript. But for now, I need to concentrate on the above project because it will get done first, and getting something done is vital. Besides, this is the first book of a series of four books, and I don't want the first book of a series to be my first book, the one I make all my mistakes on. (6/19/06)

Only The Beginning

This book is a contemporary romance, that I'm trying to keep to short-category length (55k words).  Keeping it that short is a major challenge since my characters tend to blow their stories up into 120k word epics before it's told to their satisfaction. I figure if nothing else, this is a great intellectual exercise: if I can keep this to 55k words, then I'll be one step closer to being able to write a short-story and not have it blow-up into a novel.

On The Drawing Board

After I get the above books done, I have to decide which book to work on next. "Control Relinquished" spun off three books, "A Happy Medium" spun off three books and I have two more science fiction books (one a potential series) that are begging to be written, then I came up with a new 6-book paranormal romance series. Argh! Ideas aren't my problem, I have too many ideas, what I need is more time!
