Good Day

 Busy day.

Got the Perl program up and running, and talking to the HTML form, which is all great. I sent the links off to some gals to test, and one of them replied already and said to works for her. So that's great.

Took the dog for a walk. Three loads of laundry. Cleaned some of the kitchen. Brow-beat #4-son into getting started on the dishes since it's his turn. He didn't get done, but at least he made a dent in them. Made the kids sort the laundry.

Dragged #1-son and #4-son out today, while their brothers were at school, and made them help me do some more of the yard work that's so desperately been needing to get done. Today #1-son did some weeding along the backyard fence, where some of the weeds were taller than he was. And #4-son and I dug up a weed-filled flower bed, that a clogged gutter had washed out and the dog dug up. We cleaned out all the weeds, scraped up all the dirt that the gutter had washed all over the driveway and flattened the dirt all back out, then replanted all the iris that we'd dug out of it. Then we mulched, watered, and put down 6" tall fencing, which I'm hoping will keep the dog from digging in it again. The yard is starting to look soooo much nicer. More flower beds to do, but it's getting there.

What else? I don't even remember, but I was busy all day, which is good. Then went out to a nice dinner with a friend, and she gave be a big dry-marker board, that I'm hoping will help me with some of the plot threads that I have all tangled into knots. I've been spending a lot of my thinking-time working out backstory for my secondary characters. It finally occurred to me that I can't really know how they are responding to the heroine until I know them. And I can't know them until I know little things like what their lives were like before they came to her. For instance, who has family living close? I don't even know that little bit about them... but I'm figuring it out, and that's good.

So, all around a very delightful day. And here's hoping for the same tomorrow. :-)
