So here I am... I've gotten good responses back on the beginning of Sarah's book, and I declare myself finally ready to take the plunge and enter the 1st chapter in some contests. The RWA chapter contests are a great way to get it under the notice of some editors and agents, without all the layers of slush readers, for a reasonable fee.
My plan for this morning, therefore, was to go through the listing of contests and send the silly thing off. And, the gods smiled upon me, this morning's email contained a new list of contests.
Like a good girl (for a change) I carefully went through the list... and not one single one of them had a contest category for my type of book. Contests that ended two or three months ago all had my category, but not the contests taking entries when my book is finally ready. Of course. **shaking head** Typical.
Well, I guess that means I have more time on my hands than I'd intended. Good-news/Bad-news thing.
