The End Of The World As I Know It

Moved #1-son into the dorm yesterday, so summer has officially ended.

It’s a really cool dorm-suite/apartment. It has four individual bedrooms, very small, but serviceable. Two full bathrooms, two storage closets and a coat closet. An L-shaped living room/dining room/kitchen area that’s very large. And the kitchen comes with sink, stove, microwave, dishwasher, a full-sized fridge, and more counter space than my first apartment. The best thing is if you walk into his apartment and turn down the hall to go to his room, out the window is a gorgeous view of the lake.

Well, I’ll have to take that back… the best thing, as far as I concerned, is that his dorm is literally across the street from the main branch of the Chicago library. Cool!! :)

Beyond moving kid in, I’m tired.

I worked Thursday and Friday at my new contract job. I had a good time, they’re all great folks, and I’m really looking forward to putting up their intranet for them. It’s so nice to work with people who know what they want. :) And it helps that from now on I can do most of the work from home, where I have all the tools on my computer, and my keyboard mapped right (for me), and I don’t have an hour-long commute each way. But I’m looking forward to going up there for meetings, like I said they are nice folk, and I’ve realized how secluded I get sometimes.

Bad me… I was supposed to work today on the Windy City web site, but I lazed around an read instead. Bad me. But I feel better than I did this morning, so I guess being lazy is want I needed.

But… lots of work for me to do tomorrow, so I think I’m going to bed early.
