Synopsis War

I think I won the Synopsis War... and it only took me four days. Good for me! :-)

I still have a couple battles to win, mostly in the wording category... no matter how hard I try, "she had a meltdown" and "her business was booming" just aren't Victorian turns of phrase. *sigh* So I gotta fix those. And the last sentence sucks. But if that's all I have to do, then I'm doing fine.

Then I have to review the rules for the contest. I think the deadline is tomorrow, but the way things are going around here, it was probably today. Either way doesn't matter, there are always more contests, and the main function of this exercise was to make me pin down the plot, and I succeeded in doing that. It's all the brother's fault! Yah!!! :-)

Once I completely win the synopsis war, and hopefully submit my contest entry, then the real work starts... getting ready for a trip to Texas to pick up my kid. It wouldn't be such a big deal, if it wasn't for the blasted dog. Got my neighbor kid doing the house-sitting this time, but it still means I have to clean the house before he comes over, and wash the bedding.

Then I have to register two of three kids for school, and convince the Ex to register the 3rd down at his school. It's going to be a pain in the butt, taking the kid back and forth, but my Jr High is just so bad that I can't in good conscience keep the kid in it any more. I'm glad I have the option, but the paperwork to transfer him is looking like it's going to be a nightmare. I've considered pulling the other two out of this school district, too. But one is a senior, so with only a year left, he doesn't care where he goes as long as he gets that diploma. And the other still has his heart set on the boarding high school (grades 10-12), so he also would have only one year left in this district, and he's tickled with the district because expectations are so low that straight A's are a breeze for him, and that'll look really good on his transcript, so he wants to stay. Which is good because carting one kid back and forth is going to be hard enough. Thankfully the 4th is going off to college, and registering him isn't my problem any more.

But right now is bedtime. The synopsis war wore me out.
