Busy Week
It's been a hell of a week already.
Interviewed Monday. YAH!! I think it went well. They said they were interviewing somebody else yesterday, and another person tomorrow, so maybe I'll hear tomorrow afternoon. My fingers are crossed. The good news is they are hiring two people, not just one, so my chances of getting the job increased by 50%. So, we'll see. Took new beater-car into the shop. And it rained.
Yesterday was getting everybody ready for school. And reading, because caffeine withdrawal (from two cans of coke on Saturday and Sunday to keep me awake on the drive from Texas) was making me feel like crap, besides, reading in bed made my cat really happy. She likes to cuddle while I read in bed and gets quite irritated with me if I don't do it often enough to suit her. Got beater-car back from shop $1100 poorer, then took it right back because in their messing they completely broke something that was mostly broke, so I just told them to fix it. Had my writer's group. Thank you, Chris, for talking about ships and crew. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, yet, but I know it really helped pin some stuff down for me. And it rained.
Today, I took two kids to school for their first day of school. Then spent the whole rest of the day making a presentation for my other writer's group. The presentation was "Editing Triage", and I think it turned out really cool. Finally got it done about 1/2 hour before I had to leave, not bad for me. :-) Car's not done at shop, had to order part. Ex went to appointment at the Jr. High down by his house, and it looks like we're going to be able to transfer #4-son there without too much problems. It'll be a pain-in-the-ass carting kid back and forth, but it's a MUCH better school, so I'm hoping it all works out. If we get all the paperwork done, he'll start school next week. Went to writer's group, gave the presentation, and it went over really well. Chatted for a while afterwards with a friend, then back home. It's raining again.
Tomorrow? Clean off desk day and catch up day. I have notes for various books spread all over the house, and I need to get them all collected and into the computer so they don't get lost. And, maybe I'll be hearing good news from the interview. They said 4-6 month contract, rather than the 8 months the advertisement said, but that will pay off a lot of bills, and get me back into the job market, with a whole stack of new skills that I can put on my resume... good all around. :-)
