A Good Weekend

It was a reasonably productive weekend. I got my synopsis finished and critiqued by the class's teacher, who made a couple minor changes and told me: "It's a pleasure to work with someone who's willing to understand the relationship between plot and the final synopsis" and "I know it'll find a good home - it deserves it!" <grin> I had to chuckle at the first comment, especially after watching her critiques the other folks stuff... I keep wanting to say "Come on, it's not that hard!" and "Big picture, people, big picture" :-) And her second comment made me feel really good. After four years of working on this book, I need that shot in the arm... maybe it really is good enough to send out. It helps tame my perfectionist, who wants it to be perfect before I send it out.

And, finally got started on the stained glass window I've been promising a friend for over a year. Part of my problem is that this is the most intricate pattern I've done and I wasn't sure I could do it, so I was greatly relieved to discover that it'll work out just fine and look really good! Yah!! Maybe I should have a little more confidence in myself. Got two colors cut, two easy colors to go, then the clear for the background, which has some teeny-tiny pieces, which are always a pain. But now that I'm started I know I'll get it done.

And laundry... last load of my stuff is in the washer, and the dryer is buzzing at me, so I'll have that done soon, and can start on the stuff for the folks I clean for. It ends up working out well for me because they appreciate it, and I can do their wash in between all the stuff I have to do around here for me.

Today's job list includes laundry, re-write the first chapter of "Only The Beginning" that's going to be critiqued by my RWA group on Wednesday, and writing up critiques of the chapters I've been sent for the WisCon Writer's Workshop. Busy day. :-)
