... but I finally got chapter 8 done, and surprisingly, made a first pass at chapter 9. I think I got the new scene to make some semblance of sense. We'll see what I think tomorrow after some sleep. I'm worried that it ran too long, but again, we'll see.

I increased my word-count goal. So it doesn't look like I accomplished as much as I did. But at 80k goal, this is the 61% mark, and I'm not that far into the story. Besides the fact that the manuscript is currently sitting at 79.8k words, and I have 8 chapters to go and I'm adding at least 1,000 words a chapter.

So, it's good that my new computer is up and running enough that I can put off more tweaking long enough to get some editing done. I missed my story.

And... my new boss and I talked for quite a while on Friday, and my fears appear to be groundless. When I expressed my concern that I hadn't yet accomplished anything, she said she was going to church on Sunday and send up blessings for the mutual friend who introduced us because I was just what she'd been praying for. Oh. Cool. *grin* Because I know this job is what I'd been praying for. So, so-far-so-good, and I'll work to keep it that way.
